Debut EP from Floridians Day Joy. Sounds like Grizzly Bear, if they recorded in underground aquariums. Very good stuff!
“Day Joy is Michael Serrin and Peter Michael Perceval. Day Joy’s music began from friendship and humble beginnings writing on the porch late at night in dreamy Orlando FL. It moved into the living room where it has developed into the lush and layered recordings you hear now with the help of some modest recording equipment and a little bit of liquor.”
genius.

One Thousand Means of Escape by S. Astrid Bin
This installation featuring 1,000 paper airplanes are meant to evoke a flock of birds, caught in mid-flight, but it reminds me of stars flying by at warp speed. I’m still saddened by the painful fact that I will never live long enough to see paper spacecraft technology progress that far though :(

Solar Sinter Project

“In a world increasingly concerned with questions of energy production and raw material shortages, this project explores the potential of desert manufacturing, where energy and material occur in abundance.
In this experiment sunlight and sand are used as raw energy and material to produce glass objects using a 3D printing process, that combines natural energy and material with high-tech production technology.
Solar-sintering aims to raise questions about the future of manufacturing and trigger dreams of the full utilization of the production potential of the world’s most efficient energy resource - the sun. Whilst not providing definitive answers this experiment aims to provide a point of departure for fresh thinking.
This project was developed at the Royal College of Art during my MA studies in Design Products on Platform 13.”
